Seriously, wth is this? I did not care for this book, it is hard to explain exactly why but it just didn't sit right with me。 Whether it was calling the other eggs "bad" (instead of saying their choices or actions were bad, they were bad) or the good egg putting up with the bullying and abuse so he didn't have to be alone。 Maybe I am reading too much into it but I did not like it。 I did not care for this book, it is hard to explain exactly why but it just didn't sit right with me。 Whether it was calling the other eggs "bad" (instead of saying their choices or actions were bad, they were bad) or the good egg putting up with the bullying and abuse so he didn't have to be alone。 Maybe I am reading too much into it but I did not like it。 。。。more

One egg discovers that pampering himself is good for him but he misses the others at the same time。 It works better to be good to others and yourself。

Funny。 Clever。 Insightful。 The only reason it wasn’t 5 is because I was a little concerned about the way boundaries are presented for kids。 I could be overthinking this。 :)

This book is a crime against decency。

Great story。 Already a part of my classroom activities!

The author and illustrator do a great job of conveying simple life philosophy in a fun and humorous way。 Highly recommended for a quick read-aloud for anyone。

This is a good book for the classroom because it shows the importance of painting good behavior which we all know is needed in the classroom。 It also discusses the importance of taking care of yourself and not letting how others behave get to you or affect you。 You have to take care of yourself。

Ida Wilcox

My goodness I so relate to this egg。 We tend to do sooo much for others and forget to do for ourselves。 In the mean time we crack under pressure。 Take time out for yourself so you can be healed enough to take care of others。

Enjoyable storyline with real character development, all in one carton of eggs。

The kid liked it better than The Bad Seed, but I preferred The Bad Seed。

I liked the illustrations and writing style, but I didn't *get* the point of the story (or lack thereof)。 Is the message "take care of yourself and don't let your frustration at the jerks around you let you get cracked in the head from the pressure of it all"? I still don't know。 I liked the illustrations and writing style, but I didn't *get* the point of the story (or lack thereof)。 Is the message "take care of yourself and don't let your frustration at the jerks around you let you get cracked in the head from the pressure of it all"? This book illustrations and message in The Good Egg were absolutely adorable。 I read it to my 2-year-old and 7-year-old and they both enjoyed it。 The story hit close to home as a mother managing work, a household, two kids, virtual learning, and everything else in life and reminded me that we all need to take the time to care for ourselves before we crack!

My son and I loved this book, it was engaging enough for me to like it and the pictures were colorful enough to keep him engaged。 I also liked the moral of the story which is making sure that you always take time for self-care to stay healthy mentally。

Jory John has written some of my favourite picture books。 While this one is my favourite in this series, it’s not my favourite of his books。Reading a few reviews on Goodreads, I realised this doesn’t work for me all that well because the “message” is a bit vague。 Is it telling people they should return to live with their bullies? Or is it that you shouldn’t worry about every little thing? One message is dreadful。 The other is fine。The illustrations are pretty cute, though。 Jory John has written some of my favourite picture books。 While this one is my favourite in this series, it’s not my favourite of his books。Reading a few reviews on Goodreads, I realised this doesn’t work for me all that well because the “message” is a bit vague。 Is it telling people they should return to live with their bullies? This book also related a lot to me as well。 When I was younger, I tended to always be a perfectionist and still am today。 This book teaches kids that it's okay to take time for yourself and let loose a little。 Not everything has to be perfectly in line everyday。 Although the egg was still good in the end, he realized he had to make himself happy first instead of putting everyone else's first。 This book also related a lot to me as well。 When I was younger, I tended to always be a perfectionist and still am today。 This book teaches kids that it's okay to take time for yourself and let loose a little。 Not everything has to be perfectly in line everyday。 Although the egg was still good in the end, he realized he had to make himself happy first instead of putting everyone else's first。 。。。more

This book was a fun one to read。 I personally enjoyed it because it showed great examples and parallels of the human experience and emphasized how important self care is。 It was great that it showed being perfect isn't important, let alone expecting others to be but it is important who you surround yourself with。 This book was a fun one to read。 I personally enjoyed it because it showed great examples and parallels of the human experience and emphasized how important self care is。 It was great that it showed being perfect isn't important, let alone expecting others to be but it is important who you surround yourself with。 。。。more

"The Good Egg" is a delightful picture book that includes lively illustrations and meaningful themes。 The illustrations are detailed, amusing and enjoyable。 A good egg in a bad dozen leaves his home soon to find out that he was handling things wrong the entire time, and that he must go back。 He finds that nobody is perfect, and to find the good in all。 He is welcomed home with open and excited arms。 This is a cute picture book for young children, who will find this book exciting and silly。 "The Good Egg" is a delightful picture book that includes lively illustrations and meaningful themes。 The illustrations are detailed, amusing and enjoyable。 A good egg in a bad dozen leaves his home soon to find out that he was handling things wrong the entire time, and that he must go back。 He finds that nobody is perfect, and to find the good in all。 He is welcomed home with open and excited arms。 This is a cute picture book for young children, who will find this book exciting and silly。 。。。more

This book is very playful and fun and is a great book for children ages 4-8。 The illustrations are cute and colorful and will offer many laughs to children as they read it。 Overall it teaches a great lesson, that you don’t have to be perfect and it’s okay to loosen up and have fun

This is an incredibly important book about the futility of trying to control the actions of others and the importance of self-care。 Underneath a layer of egg puns and so-so jokes, is a phenomenally important story about how an egg learns that he can only ever control his actions and that the pressure of trying to change the behavior of those around him was causing him undue stress。 After noticing literal cracks appearing in his shell from trying so hard to make his friends behave “good” (which This is an incredibly important book about the futility of trying to control the actions of others and the importance of self-care。 Underneath a layer of egg puns and so-so jokes, is a phenomenally important story about how an egg learns that he can only ever control his actions and that the pressure of trying to change the behavior of those around him was causing him undue stress。 After noticing literal cracks appearing in his shell from trying so hard to make his friends behave “good” (which is, of course, just a matter of his perspective of what “good” is) he decided to leave the carton and spend some time by himself。 At first, he is lonely, but in no time at all, he learns the importance of self-care。 He goes for walks。 Spends time meditating。 Practices his painting。 Just doing what he wants to do, instead of constantly worrying about the behavior of others, helps him to heal from his stress and realize that it is important to look after oneself。 Here’s a powerful line from the end of the book: “Here’s what I realized: The other eggs aren’t perfect, and I don’t have to be, either。 I’m ok with that。”Such an important lesson for not only children but also adults。 It seems that every day I hear about a “controversy” involving people having strong opinions about the behavior, actions, or opinions of others。 I’m pretty sure this is mostly what Twitter and Facebook is these days。 All of this anger and frustration that arises from caring so much about what others think and do can cause undue stress in us and ultimately harm us in very real ways。 It colors our perception of the world, others, and even ourselves。 Once we can let go of caring about the actions and opinions of others, we can start to truly take after ourselves。 And actually exist。 Not just exist to give opinions on others。 。。。more

I really enjoyed this book and I believe it would be a very good book for students。 This book shows the importance of being who you are, and not trying to turn people into what they are not。 This book also shows that you should not worry about other people's actions。 At any age, I believe this is a good lesson to learn。 Younger students often try to worry about everyone else and it affects their own work so this would be a good book to cover。 I really enjoyed this book and I believe it would be a very good book for students。 This book shows the importance of being who you are, and not trying to turn people into what they are not。 This book also shows that you should not worry about other people's actions。 At any age, I believe this is a good lesson to learn。 Younger students often try to worry about everyone else and it affects their own work so this would be a good book to cover。 。。。more

This was such a cute book to read! I loved the authors of this book and I’ve read other books like this one。 It was a cute book to read about an egg。 It shows that you cannot please everyone, but you can try。 In the end you end up stressing yourself out, basically making yourself crack。 It was a great book with great illustrations。 I liked how they had a lot going on in each page。 This book would be great for any kid to read!

This book is ideal for kindergarten through second grade students。 It won the Children's Choice Award in 2020。 I love the idea behind it。 It is a play on the phrase “good egg” where the character is actually an egg with good behavior which is humorous and clever。 This book may not be great as a read aloud because it is not very exciting verbally but I would purchase it for my classroom so that students could have the chance to read it。 This book is ideal for kindergarten through second grade students。 It won the Children's Choice Award in 2020。 I love the idea behind it。 It is a play on the phrase “good egg” where the character is actually an egg with good behavior which is humorous and clever。 This book may not be great as a read aloud because it is not very exciting verbally but I would purchase it for my classroom so that students could have the chance to read it。 。。。more

I loved this book! I think everyone should have the opportunity to read this, this is something I will be using for my tutoring lessons if I can get my hands on one! I love the lesson within this book, don't put too much pressure on yourself all the time。 Designating time for yourself is not a bad thing, No one is perfect。 I just love the lesson behind it, and I think it's relatable for children as well。 I loved this book!
